Me Without You
By RL, To K

Like bright colors to a flower,
Blossoming in the early spring.
Like big wings to a butterfly,
Creeping out of a broken cocoon.
Like yellow-green leaflets to a seed,
Just awakened from its bedroom soil.
Like the bright yellow sun to a dawn,
Growing out of its darkness.

Imagine a flower without bright colors
Imagine a butterfly without its wings
Imagine a seed without peeping leaflets
Imagine a dawn without a growing sun.

That would be me.
Me without you.

Brokenness
-RL

It was back in 2010, October 28
Have you remembered?
The noise – shouting, the crowd
All outside the little bubble we shared
In the classroom corner
Far away from the land people know

Everyone was there, friends
But they weren’t.
Everyone saw us, friends
But they were invisible.
Everyone talked about us, friends
But they said nothing.

It was then when you moved closer
I can feel my hair rise
Everything was rising – blood, tension, love
Your lips, closer to my ear than my ear itself
There, you whispered sugar to my ear
“Will you be my, girlfriend?”

My “Yes!” faster than light, went
Your smile wider than the universe, grew
I was yours, and you mine
2010, October 28 that was
And now I have forgotten

Forgotten the feeling of brokenness.
